FOUNDERS AND THEIR MISSION
Naubahar Film Festival was founded in 2016 by Syed Hussain & Uroosa Rahim. They are passionate about bringing important cinematic work from all parts of the world to America. Their intention is to recognize the outstanding accomplishments made by people who produce South Asian films, and acknowledge talented entertainers from around the world.
Film makers from all genres are encouraged to submit their work for a special screening in "TBA". They will also have an opportunity to be nominated for various international, people's choice awards.
The Naubahar mission is to celebrate the movie makers, using cinema related events to build cultural bridges.
Syed Hussain
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Syed Hussain is a multi-talented writer and director with over ten years of experience in film-making. His recent movie Dawat-E-Shaadi is declared a Blockbuster Hit and was released by Rajshiri Productions all over India. He is also the Founder & Managing Director for Bollywood Production Company Naubahar Films.
Uroosa Rahim
Co-Founder & CEO
Uroosa Rahim (www.uroosarahim.com) is a writer, producer, and director. During the late 1980s to early 2000s Uroosa directed and produced her family owned radio program called Naubahar Radio. Uroosa has also organized large Bollywood concerts, International Designer Fashion Shows and Upscale Wedding Expos. Uroosa co-directed and produced film Salaam Zindagi. It was declared a blockbuster hit and released by Rajshri Productions. Uroosa has additionally directed music video called Yaad for an international artist and commercial ads for Maqdoom Brothers, RR Pan Masala and WIIZ Led Lights.
